Conical shell smaller than in forma lanceolata. Lateral ribs not thickened as in other formae of present species, but are double with smaller flat surface in between. Lateral ribs diverge and run nearly straight in caudal part of shell. Embryonic shell is less oval than other formae and provided a sharp cusp. Normal longitudal ribs and transverse striation identical to forma pyramidata. Cross-section of aperture more triangular than forma lanceolata. [van der Spoel, 1967]
Epipelagic to Mesopelagic with strong diurnal vertical migration. {Boas, 1886]

Distribution: Partly covered by that of the former, lanceolata, particularly in the southern parts. [van der Spoel, 1967]
