Type Locality: South Atlantic Ocean; 45°53.9'S, 122°1.1'W; 50°34.6'S, 83°44.5'W; Kerguelen [Pelseneer, 1888; Pelseneer, 1903]
Distribution: Found between species antarctica distribution range and Antarctica. Live in currents surrounding Antarctic continent. [van der Spoel, 1967]
Transparent, colorless shell. Cross section round near apex, and triangular near aperture. One rib to ventral side, with five large longitudinal ribs to lateral sides together. Slight dorsal curvature to shell is seen. Embryonic shell droplet-shaped and pointed, separated from adult by faint incision. Fins shorter than forma pyramidata, and more undulate at borders. Chestnut-brown lips. Radula composed of 5 to 11 poorly developed rows of teeth. [van der Spoel, 1967]
